Ascendant

This warlock binds themselves to the service of a creature trying to become a god. The ascendant patron can take many forms, but the warlock gains powers from the realm beyond outside the realms of the gods

Expanded Spell List

The Ascendant lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Spell Level Spells
1st Tasha's Hideous Laughter, Magic Missile, Finger of Smiting
2nd Detect Thoughts, Suggestion, Puppet
3rd Animate Dead, Fist of Condemnation
4th Ice Storm, Phantasmal Killer, Zeal
5th Dominate Person, Cone of Cold
6th Consign to Oblivion

Valkyrie Defense

Starting at 1st level, when you are hit with a ranged attack roll by a creature within 120 feet, you may use your reaction to fire out a retributive missile at them. You deal 1d4+1 force damage to the creature.

Superior Charm

Starting at 6th level, you can call upon your patron to break the will of creatures who normally have an unbreakable will. As a bonus action, choose a creature who you can see and place a curse upon them for 1 Minute. For the duration, the creature loses its resistance or immunity to the charmed condition. Once you have used this feature, you must complete a long rest to recover it.

Ward of the Beyond

Starting at 10th level, your patron provides a portion of protection from the madness of limbo where they prepare to ascend from. You gain immunity to cold damage and the charmed condition.

Additionally, you learn the Chill Touch cantrip if you did not already know it and it does not count against your cantrips known. When an enemy provokes an attack of opporunity, you may use your reaction to cast Chill Touch against them instead.

Eldritch Intervention

Starting at 14th level, you can call upon your patron for help beyond the realm of mortals.

Imploring your patron's aid requires you to use your action. Describe the assistance you seek and your patron intervenes. The DM chooses the Nature of the intervention; the Effect of any Cleric or Warlock spell would be appropriate. If your patron intervenes, you can't use this feature again for 90 days or until you provide a significant offering to your patron. Otherwise, you can use it again after you finish a Long Rest.
